Risk sits with everyone now, from the board to the front line, but most people pick it up on the fly. This course gives your team a shared, practical grounding in risk management, built on ISO 31000:2018, the international standard adopted in Australia as AS ISO 31000:2018.
It works through the standard the way it is meant to be used: the purpose of risk management as creating and protecting value, the principles that make it effective, the framework that embeds it in how decisions actually get made, and the process itself, from setting context through to assessing and treating risk, monitoring and reporting. Everything is taught in plain language with real examples, not jargon for its own sake.
It is led by a former Chief Risk Officer who has applied the standard in regulated, government and not-for-profit settings, so it stays grounded in the real work rather than the theory. Participants leave with a common language for risk, the confidence to use a simple and repeatable process, and a clear sense of how risk connects to the decisions their organisation has to make.
